TREATMENT PROCEDURE
The following is a brief summary of the actual procedure for the placement and restoration of a
conventional dental implant. The protocols for Teeth in an Hour™ and when using NobelGuide™
are considerably different and are pointed out further on:
-
First the titanium implant is inserted (a).
This is a painless operation performed under local anaesthetic.
The implant is either left to heal under the gum (b) (typically 4 months for anterior mandible and 6 months for posterior
mandible and all of maxilla), or else the abutment is attached immediately. This varies from case to case.

After healing
-
After healing (if the implant is left under the gum) the implant is uncovered and
an abutment is attached to it. This abutment provides the base for the new crown.
Final stage
-
In the final stage of treatment the crown is attached to the abutment.
The new tooth is constructed in such a way that it matches the size, shape and
colour of your own teeth.
